Connect
You don’t have to navigate the middle school years alone. At Feed the Need, we create space for families to connect—through shared experiences, supportive conversations, and community you can count on. Whether it’s kids making friends who get them, or caregivers finding someone who truly understands, connection is at the heart of everything we do.
Engage
We believe learning should feel meaningful, hands-on, and fun. Through interest-led projects, sensory-friendly activities, and flexible pacing, students engage with the world in ways that feel natural and empowering. No busywork—just real learning, real life, and room to be curious.
Empower
Our goal is to help every student—and every caregiver—feel confident and capable. We support self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-advocacy in ways that fit each learner. With encouragement, tools, and community, we grow stronger together.

Because this is when it all starts to shift.
Middle school is a time of rapid emotional, social, and physical development—especially for neurodiverse students. Puberty, new academic expectations, growing independence, and complex social dynamics can feel overwhelming. And while support for younger children is more common, tweens and early teens are often left in the gap—too old for early intervention, but not yet served by high school transition programs.
That’s why we focus on the messy middle—to provide a space where students and families can grow through these changes with understanding, flexibility, and care.
-
Because no one should do this alone.
Homeschooling can be rewarding—but it can also be isolating, especially for families navigating special needs. A co-op brings families together to share resources, build community, and support one another. It’s not just about academics—it’s about connection, collaboration, and care.
At Feed the Need Sensory Zone Homeschool Co-op, every family has a voice. We grow together, learn from each other, and create something none of us could build alone: a truly supportive, neurodiverse-friendly learning environment where kids and caregivers can thrive.
-
Our co-op runs on heart, community, and shared effort—but there are real costs to creating a safe, supportive, and sensory-friendly space for our kids.
Your membership fee helps cover:
Facility use (rental space, utilities)
Sensory materials (tools, calming items, flexible seating)
Learning supplies (crafts, games, project materials, hands-on activities)
Guest educators or therapists (when available)
Snacks, cleaning, and admin needs
Support for caregiver events and workshops
We do our best to keep costs as low and accessible as possible. Financial assistance may be available—because every child deserves to be part of this community.

That’s totally okay—and expected. We’re designed with this in mind. Students can take breaks in our Sensory Zone Trailer or in our cozy calm-down areas. We use trauma-informed approaches and see regulation challenges as communication, not misbehavior. No judgment, just support.
-
At this time, our programming is specifically designed for middle school-aged students (ages 11–14). However, we’re exploring options for sibling support or future family days. Let us know if that’s something your family needs!
