Creating Practical Sensory-Friendly Spaces
Feed the Need Sensory Zone offers interactive workshops designed to help schools, churches, and community organizations better support individuals with sensory needs.
These trainings focus on practical, real-world strategies for creating sensory-friendly environments without expensive renovations or complicated systems.
Through hands-on experience building sensory spaces, operating a mobile sensory trailer, and working directly with neurodivergent youth and families, participants will learn simple approaches that can make environments more comfortable, inclusive, and supportive for everyone.

Tiana Haygood is the founder of Feed the Need Sensory Zone, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating sensory-friendly spaces and inclusive experiences within the community.
Since launching Feed the Need Sensory Zone in 2021, Tiana has led initiatives including the mobile sensory trailer, practical sensory room development projects, and the Messy Middle homeschool co-op serving neurodivergent tweens and teens.
Tiana has presented workshops and shared practical strategies for creating sensory-friendly environments throughout Michigan and beyond. She has spoken in a variety of settings including churches and worship spaces, Christian education conferences, and community-based learning spaces.
In addition to leading workshops, she has consulted on and helped develop sensory-friendly spaces in settings such as adult day programs, children’s museums, churches, classrooms, hair salons, and private homes.
Her work focuses on practical, affordable solutions that organizations and families can realistically implement in order to create environments that are more comfortable, inclusive, and supportive for individuals with sensory needs.
Through workshops and community partnerships, Tiana shares insights drawn from real-world experience working directly with neurodivergent youth, families, educators, and community organizations.

Workshop Format
